Teen Talk Middle School
Health Connected's Teen Talk Middle School curriculum is a comprehensive sexuality education curriculum designed to help educate 12-14 year olds about sexuality and sexual health. This sequential, 12 session curriculum is intended to be delivered over two weeks. Teen Talk Middle School was updated in 2017 to meet the new requirements of the California Healthy Youth Act, based on a comprehensive review by the Adolescent Sexual Health Work Group.
Core components of the Teen Talk Middle School curriculum include:

Meets the stringent requirements of CA Education Code sections 51930-51939 for 7th-12th grade students

Consists of 12 sessions intended to be taught for a minimum of 10 hours over 2 weeks

Supports clarification of values about gender roles, relationships, and sexuality

Provides information about where to obtain reproductive health care

Encourages parent and trusted adult communication

Incorporates multi-day parent/trusted adult interview homework assignment for students

The California Healthy Kids Resource Center and Adolescent Sexual Health Work Group just completed their 2021 Education Code Compliance Review. Teen Talk Middle School once again received among the highest marks for compliance with the California Healthy Youth Act. Read the results here.
