Martha Simmons, MD, PhD
Dr. Martha Simmons has a background in academic medicine, with current interests in lifestyle medicine, population health, and health technology. She works as a Senior Consultant for Clinical Program Development in the Education Division of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, developing and supporting initiatives for patient-centered healthcare.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Family Connections, a family learning community for local underserved children and parents. In the past, she sat on the Board of the Belmont-Redwood Shores Public School Foundation (School-Force), was a founding member of the Redwood Shores School District Wellness Committee, as well as holding many other volunteer positions.

Dr. Simmons earned a B.A. in biology with honors from Grinnell College, and an M.D. Ph.D. from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, completing a residency in Anatomic Pathology and fellowship in Neuropathology at the University of California, San Francisco. She lives in Belmont with her husband and two teenage daughters and enjoys trail running, hiking, yoga, reading, and travel.
